Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 20, 2026
At JPT Services, your tax information is treated with the highest level of privacy and security — because it’s not just data to us, it’s your personal, financial life.
We collect only what’s legally required to prepare your return — and we go beyond standard practices to protect it.
1. What We Collect
We only collect:
- Your name, address, SSN/ITIN
- Income documents (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)
- Bank info (for direct deposit)
- Supporting documents you provide (receipts, deductions, etc.)
We do NOT collect:
- Browsing history, device data, or location
- Social media info, purchase history, or spending habits
- Any data not directly tied to your tax return
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used for one purpose only:
To accurately prepare and file your federal and California state tax returns.
We do NOT:
- Sell, share, or monetize your data
- Use your info for marketing, ads, or analytics
- Store your files in the cloud unless encrypted and necessary for e-filing
3. How We Protect Your Data
Your files are stored locally on encrypted drives using VeraCrypt, and backed up on TrueNAS — a private, self-hosted storage system. No third-party cloud services hold your data unless required for IRS e-filing (which is encrypted end-to-end).
We use Proton Suite (Mail, Drive, VPN) for secure communication and file transfer — meaning your emails and documents are encrypted before they leave your device.
All devices and servers are protected with:
- Full-disk encryption
- Password + 2FA access
- Regular security audits
We follow IRS Publication 4557 and CTEC guidelines for data protection.
4. Third-Party Services
We may use:
- IRS e-filing systems (secure, encrypted transmission)
- Stripe for payments (we never store full card details — only last 4 digits)
- Proton Drive or encrypted email for document transfer (optional, client-controlled)
We do NOT use:
- Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking tools
- Marketing platforms (Mailchimp, etc.)
- Social media integrations
- Any service that requires sharing your data beyond what’s needed for tax filing
5. Your Rights
Under California law (CCPA), you have the right to:
- Request access to your data
- Request deletion after required retention period
- Correct any inaccuracies
- Opt out of data sharing (we don’t share, so this is automatic)
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@jptservice.co or (209) 425-0896.
6. Data Retention
We retain your tax documents for 3–7 years, as required by IRS and California law. After that:
- Physical copies are shredded
- Digital files are permanently deleted from all devices, backups, and encrypted drives
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We’ll notify you via email or website notice if significant changes are made.
